| The cubs all
learned about the history of the Olympic Games, made their own Javelins,
shots and discus and held a mini Olympic Games.
Gold, Silver and Bronze medals
were awarded as appropriate.
Each Six then all picked a
Continent and Country within that continent: South America (Mexico),
Australasia (Australia), Europe (Spain) and Africa (South Africa).
The six researched all they knew about the country, its climate,
population, language, currency, flag and Scouting in the country.
They then presented all that they had learned to the rest of the
pack. We had a food tasting from each country. Most people liked
Nachos from Mexico best and Olives from Spain least. We played a
game of ‘stealing the flag’ when we had to raid each others country
and steal their flag without our own flag being taken – it was great
fun!
