Annual General Meeting
(28 April)
At
the end of the AGM, Alex Q was presented with the Chief
Scout's Silver Award. He worked hard to get it and we are
sure that lots of Cubs will follow in his footsteps in 2004/05
to earn this top award in Cubs.
Well done Alex!

St. Georges’ Day Parade (25
April) |
| This year’s parade
was in Peel Castle. We all
met outside the Kipper Factory and paraded down to the Castle where
we had a short, enjoyable service to commemorate the Patron Saint
of Scouting. The weather was very atmospheric, with the
mist rolling in and out of the Cathedral and castle during the service.

Visit
to Ramsey Police Station (18 March) |
| Towards the
end of term, one cub, Alex Q, took us for a tour of Ramsey Police
Station. Alex’s dad, Kevin, is a member of the Ramsey
Constabulary and accompanied us while Alex explained all the facilities
of the Station. The Cubs
experienced life in the Cells and each got a ‘turn’ in the Traffic
Car.

Badges
and Pack Nights (Spring 2004) |
| In
January we embarked on the Fitness Challenge, with a ‘Superstars’
style event, following on with ‘taster’ sessions of Karate and Hockey. We all went swimming at the NSC one evening
and had a great time. The
Scout Super splash Competition appropriately fell in the middle
of all this and we finished a respectable 4th, especially
as our team was a good mix of 8, 9 and 10 year olds.
Amongst all of these activities, we made sure we had an
evening of games each term and a Hike to balance our programme. We regularly refresh map reading and knotting
skills.
