King Orry Pack Camp (8 July - 10 July)
Mullen y Carty 2005

Leaders: Akela, Chil & Kaa. Cubs: Jack B, Chris B, Alex B, Louisa B, Joseph C, Joe C, Jake C, Charlie H, George H, Cai I, Ben K, Edward K, Frankie L, Annie M, Greg M, Ryan O, Joe R, Fynn S, Josephine W & Mick W.

This year the King Orry Camp was held at Marown Scouts' Camp Site, Mulle y Carty. The theme of the weekend was Air and all of the Cubs managed to gain their Air Activities badge by attending. Luckily the weather was gorgeous all weekend and the midges stayed away.

Having arrived at 18:30, Friday evening was spent putting up tents and setting up the campsite, along with a few 'Wide Games'. For some of the Cubs, it was their first experience of a wide game. Firstly, Jackand Eddy ran off down Silverdale Glen with instruction to hide but to blow their whistle every minute - the rest of the back had to find them. Unfortunately this proved more difficult than expected and a minute seemed to be at least two when surrounded by Cubs but less than 30 seconds when they were at the other end of the Glen! The boys also played 'Kick the Cone', which was a success all weekend - especially when the Leaders joined in!

Having got a good 2 hours sleep, the Cubs were up bright and early the following morning at 6am. We then set of for the Ronaldsway Air Musuem, walking along the Milleneum Way.

With Kaa having lead the (rather extended) way, we arrived slightly late but just in time for lunch! The Musuem itself proved to be most interesting and when we finally managed to drag the boys away from the machine gun we set of for Silverdale.

On Saturday evening we had a campfire, an Aircraft quiz and making session and dam making in the river!

Sunday was spent packing away the camp and finishing off the remainder of the Air Activities badge. Finally the he points were counted up for the weekend and were as follows:

Island Cub Camp (17 June - 19 June)

Leaders: Akela, Bagheera, Chil and Kaa. Cubs: Alex B, Edward K, Joseph C, Charlie H, Jack B, Mick W, Ryan O, Chris B, Greg M, Josephine W, Louisa B, and Annie M.

King Orry Cubs joined around 70 other Cubs from around the Island at Crossags campsite in Ramsey for the weekend.

Activities included Cryptic Quizzes, Kayaking, Blind-fold trail, making pancakes, obstacle courses, catapult making, crazy golf, arts and craft as well a fantastic water slide on Sunday morning. We had a Karate display on Saturday evening before we all sat round a roaring campfire and sang whilst the Midges ate us all!

This was the first island camp for most of the cubs who attended, and they all went home tired and dirty!
