Group Timeline

1910

Group is started as a Scout Troop. The first (acting) Scoutmaster was the school head, Mr Bolland.

1914-1918

Sometime during the First World War, the Group folded, like so many others, due to lack of Leaders.

1930s

Group is re-established and met in the Minorca Methodist Chapel.

1946

Group once again folds.

10 October 1958

Group is re-established as a School Cub Pack run by Laxey Primary School with Cubmaster John Gair.

1985
1st Laxey Scout Group closes.
19 January 1999
Present incarnation of 1st Laxey Scout Group was established.
The Beaver Colony was started.
15 September 1999
The Cub Pack (later named Vikings) was started.
September 2000
The Scout Troop was started.
January/February 2002
The Scout Troop closed.
9 January 2003
A second Cub Pack is formed. As a result the existing Cub Pack is renamed Viking Cub Pack and the new one King Orry Cub Pack.
15 December 2004
Vikings Cub Pack closed.
Present
1 Beaver Colony and 1 Cub Pack (King Orry)
